Dear Camp Families,
2014 will be our 38th Anniversary of Camp Hidden Hollow! We are so thankful for the way God has blessed. What a blessing it has been having several generations of campers and parents come back on Parents Day to tell stories of how camp impacted their lives. The campers and alumni enjoy sharing stories of camp activities and songs that always bring smiles and lots of laughter. Parents and Grandparents share with us memories being created and it is a lot of fun!
There is something special about going to camp. Many come with family and friends, and make new friends during their week of camp. We strive to give the campers a great camp experience. Even as we talk about the traditions, inter-generational connectedness, from the campers perspective, every day brings something special!
They are grouped with campers approximately their own age, and will enjoy the activities together throughout the week. We start each day with prayer and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, then head to our chapel to sing camp songs and hear stories of missionaries and heroes of the Faith. Then it is out to play games and unique sports, go swimming in the lake, ride horses, make their own fishing poles and go fishing in the lake, try their hand at archery, canoeing, crafts, learning fun camp songs like 'the Bear Song' or 'Bill Grogans Goat' and hunt for crawdads in the creek after lunch.
Many of our staff grew up at camp and they can all tell stories of staff members that meant a lot to them. They strive to be one of the staff your camper will remember years later.
Feel free to forward this website or you can make copies of the application and the information section of this site and provide those to family or friends that may be interested in coming to camp.
The ages of the campers are rising first graders to rising eighth graders. Those entering the eighth grade will be CITs (Counselors In Training).
The 2014 Camp sessions will be: 1st Session: Monday, June 2nd to Friday, June 6th, 2014
2nd Session: Monday, June 9th to Friday, June 13th, 2014
You may register for one or both sessions.
I am also taking applications for those that would like to serve on the volunteer teen staff. It is a great opportunity to learn responsibility, make life-long friends, and have a lot of fun! The teen staff members need to be rising ninth graders or older. Give me a call if you know of anyone who might be interested and I will be happy to interview them.
I am excited about another fun summer as we grow in God’s love and enjoy His handiwork in nature! I look forward, along with my husband, David (Skipper), and our children, to seeing you on June 2nd and/or June 9th. 2014.
In Christian Love,
